Mykola Tomenko, Vice-Chairman of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, upholds the resolution of the government that objects that the cost of the reconstruction of "Olimpiysky" national sports complex be increased, and recommends that the Central Control Auditing Department analyzes all the expenditures for the reconstruction of the national sports complex.
M.Tomenko believes that such a resolution was possible owing to the public and mass media who drawn attention to the apparent corruption schemes in the reconstruction of "Olimpiysky" national sports complex.
"The government must assume the position of a State budget defender, not the stand of the officials, who are willing to use the State budget under the pretext of EURO-2012", - he stressed.
Moreover, M.Tomenko reminded of the fact that "the final project of reconstruction of Olimpiysky" national sports complex has not been ratified yet, therefore, the present-day cost of reconstruction 114, 7 million UAH should be reduced".
The Vice-Chairman is convinced that the government shall monitor the process of reconstruction more strictly in order to secure its timely completion and prevent misappropriation of funds".
